IS acting. Just as important as learning to improvise is learning to make it
believable. Strong acting makes your improv feel authentic and engaging and helps you create dynamic characters. Acting trains you to use your whole body and the space around you to build truly captivating scenes. Through stage combat, intimacy and basic acting training, this class will take your improv to another level, where anything can happen on the improv stage.
Diane Rachel believes that Improvisation can have the same integrity as film and theater work. Before becoming a member of the House Teams at Finest City Improv, Diane was performing with BATS Improv of San Francisco for over 2 decades. In addition to being in the performance Company, she was on the coaching staff, corporate training staff and had introduced a myriad of specializations to the school curriculum. Diane was a founding member of True Fiction Magazine and on the staff of the Berkeley Rep School of Theatre. Her specialties include Acting for Improv, Stage Combat, Intimacy for Improv, and Genre work.
